Issues in Education: How Much Do Voters Know?

In reference to Mrs.Kallas blog Rubric to what has to go on the Blog


The majority of the surveys show that some do what is going on with the education, they for sure know that school choice is one of priorities. And for the most part they know that Betsy Devos is the current U.S. Secretary of Education. What was interesting is that they all had different ideas of what they think the most urgent issue in education is, they all thought differently and its interesting to have a widespread of the ideas of issues in education.

1.A suggestion in order to improve voter awareness is to have a explanation of the difference it makes when more people can make , talk about why is it important for every person to try and vote. Have a conversation of what happens once they vote, and what changes it makes.

2.Another action that could be done is attract the people to vote and have like a thank you party for them taking their time to vote, because some take their time off of other things to go and vote, and every vote makes a difference.

My Biggest Challenge as a Future Teacher

Two major challenges that I believe that I'm going to face when becoming a teacher is having to deal with the students attitude, and time management. The way that the attitude of students would affect others students time of learning is that it would time away from my teaching to be able to talk to him or her. Which would make me take time because there is going to be some students that they will give attitude all the time no matter what. The way that time management will affect the students learning is that, I may not have enough to teach them , or I may not give them sufficient time to finish something, and theres also some students that need time to understand a topic and I would have to move on and find some time to re teach them that topic. Some steps that i can take for these problems is talk to them try to give them some freedom so they don't feel that they just come to school and listen to a boring teacher for 8 hours long. I would also manage my time wisely try to give more time to the things I know for sure is going to take longer and give less time to things I know wont be hard to learn.

B. I think that what motivated the teacher to continue teaching even if they knew that they got a small amount of payment is that they maybe wanted to continue doing what they like do the most which is teaching, and helping out students to strive for the better. They want to keep teaching students to go reach for what they want and so they could probably do something that can change the world in a positive way. If i were a teacher in that situation I would have still stay there and teach the students new things, for me i don't really care about the money as long as I know that I'm doing something positive, and in this situation i know that i am because I'm going to teach those students to do things that they thought they wouldn't be able to do. The factors i would weigh as part of my decision is choosing what the right thing would be, I rather get paid a small amount or no amount but at least I'm going to enjoy my job. I also know that if I keep teaching the students later on in life they can make things better that everyone can benefit from. Another factor if the money is scare i know that at someone else they wont be hiring anybody because they are not going to have any money to pay them with.

The Water is Wide Reflection

Recently I viewed the video, The Water is Wide, in my Principles of Education and Training class. You will find my response to the blog.prompt below.



1. The blacks and whites were in separate school's and if you disobeyed the teachers were able to hit you.

2. We still have to learn about the same concept, and we still take field trips that will help us to learn, and we also still have to sit in assign seats, and raise out hand to answer a question.

5. The community did a boycott to make Mr.Conroy star or they would of strike the school, they  also made the school begin to change the ways they  teach. He did this by talking to families of why it was important to support the school and their kids.

8.The idea that I carry away from this movie is that everyone has the ability to learn something no matter the status they are in, and that you should be open minded and find different ways you can help the student learn.

The Leader In Me

Leadership Observed

        Some similarities between a teacher and a leader is that they both have to have the patient, kind, responsible, good role model, and a open minded person. For example when being a teacher you have to have patience with every student when teaching something new there is sometimes when some kids need more time to understand and there is some that get it right away, so being patient can help the kids who need more help to understand the new topic. Every teacher should be responsible in keeping track of the students doing their work and making sure that she keeps the graded papers in a spot she or he will remember in some occasions students do not like when teachers loose their paper and most of them put a lot of effort in them. Another activity where a teacher shows leadership is when she shows multiple ways for solving a problem each students brain functions different and they all learn in a different way they choose what way is easier for them to solve a problem .

My Leadership In Action
The way I would prove my leadership is by trying to keep myself organized with things manage my time, sometimes I feel like I don't have enough time to do somethings but its probably just because I don't manage my time correctly. Joining clubs can help me too especially if I'm the leader of a club I can show of the skills I have to show that I'm a great leader. Participation has helped developed leadership by making you find different perspectives of people your being open minded and getting to know them better, participating in a club helps you interact with people and learn the differences you all have the ways they learn stuff , and being kind with what they believe is the correct answer or something we all have different techniques that makes us help one another .
